This is a ted talk given by Glennon Doyle Melton, that moved me to tears and opened my eyes in ways I could not have imagined. I think we can all identify with her story and she has a unique way of viewing the world….that just makes sense.
Some of my favorite quotes from her are as follows:
~ All I ever needed to know, I learned in a mental hospital.
~ Everybody is worthy, just because they exist.
~ Life is beautiful and life is brutal. Life is brutiful. Life is messy.
She speaks to the concept of the weight life puts on us from a very young age and how sensitive people learn to cope with this weight. She speaks to our superhero capes and why we do not need them. She encourages us to say….actually, today I’m not fine!
Her story is one of courage and transformation…..of truly living up to our potential of being human. She is a recovering alcoholic, bulimic and drug user.
She says Brené Brown is her hero and I would agree wholeheartedly with that! She is mine too.
I hope I have encouraged to watch it….
Thoughts and reactions are welcome!
